"Theatre is emotions on display." I don't remember where or when these words appeared but I believe Theatre should be emotions shared. This is the premise of "The Box? A Show of Feelings." In seven story-sequences the principal characters, a child and a dog, recreate in mime the eight emotions of Curiosity, Sadness, Frustration, Fear, Happiness, Anger, Loneliness, and Love. Each sequence is complete within itself yet the performance builds to a unified theatrical experience where each emotion is not just observed but is felt by the audience. "The Box? A Show of Feelings" has entranced audiences in nearly twenty countries around the world and has won a UNIMA Citation of Excellence in the Art of Puppetry. |
"When it comes time to compose those inevitable best-of lists at season's end, the top acting spot may just end up going to the mop-topped canine in Coad Canada Puppets' '"The Box? A Show of Feelings."
J.
Cooper Robb
"A Play without words and of great universality that reflects the inquietudes of the (modern) man. Besides the power of expression of the puppets and the technical precision of the manipulator, the most significant aspect of the show is its capacity of involving the audience with emotions. Emotions which are caused by puppets, simple emotions but so powerful that they manage to produce more vivid results than the ones obtained by many live actors."
